Mehwish Hayat is certainly one of the most sought-after actresses in the country and the diva has another feather in her cap. According to recent reports, she will receive Tamgha-e-Imtiaz on Pakistan Day, that is, March 23, 2019, for her contribution to Pakistani cinema.
Mehwish Hayat has the most number of successful films to her credit. Almost all of the films she has worked in have turned out to be critically and commercially successful. Some of them include blockbusters such as Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, Actor in Law and Punjab Nahi Jaungi. Most recently, she appeared on the big screen in Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza’s Load Wedding (2018) that too garnered good reviews.
With the aim to commemorate the efforts and success of Pakistani citizens as well as 18 foreigners, the Federal Government has issued a list of 127 people who will be honored at the upcoming Civil Awards Ceremony, which is held every year on the occasion of Pakistan Day.
Apart from Mehwish Hayat, some of the prominent names who will be honored on the occasion include Reema Khan, Babra Sharif, Shabbir Jan, Iftikhar Thakur, renowned singer Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi, Sajjad Ali, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Yasir Shah, anchorperson Ishrat Fatima, Arshad Sharif and business personality Aqeel Karim Dhedhi among others. The awards will be presented to recipients by President Dr. Arif Alvi for their contribution and excellence in their respective fields.
Coming back to Mehwish, the actress and singer is gearing up for her upcoming movie, Chhalawa, which will hit cinemas on Eid ul Fitr this year.
