Music producer, guitarist and studio owner Kashan Admani, a member of music group Mizmaar, who has also appeared on Coke Studio and Pepsi Battle of the Bands in recent years, has a lot going on.

Among them is the Dream Station Star Series 2019, which he has created as a “platform to raise the bar in production standards and therefore the first step in that direction was the studio which is the only studio of its type in Pakistan and then starting the Star Series!” he told Instep.

To that end, Grammy-nominated drummer Simon Phillips is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan this week as part of the Star Series. Speaking about the initiative as well as Phillips, Kashan told Instep further: “Dream Station Star Series is a series of events that will bring international music celebrities to Pakistan for clinics and workshops to help the local music industry professionals and give them an opportunity to learn from the masters of the music business and interact with them.

In the first event of this series we are announcing a clinic with the Grammy nominee, drummer, music producer and recording engineer Mr. Simon Phillips - who has played with names like Toto, Jeff Beck, David Gilmour, The Who, Whitesnake and Joe Satriani, etc. and produced and mixed albums for artists like Mike Oldfield, Derek Sherinian…”

Simon will be giving a workshop in Karachi on March 1, 2019. Several members of the local music industry have responded to his arrival in Pakistan with shout-outs on social media platforms. Among them are musicians like Omran Shafique, Bilal Maqsood (Strings), Faakhir, Natasha Baig, Ali Noor, Arieb Azhar, Immu, Shallum Xavier, Kami Paul and many others. It seems like Simon Phillips has the music industry – veterans and youngsters – excited.
