Amidst an array of TV plays centered upon domestic issues, with a recent surge of socially-relevant plays, one feels the need to have diverse genres and themes on the small screen, something that was there in the past. One such project was called Andhera Ujala, a popular crime thriller series directed by Rashid Dar and written by Younis Javed that went on-air during the 80s.
The good news is that a sequel to this series is in the works and is soon to hit our TV screens, featuring a slew of new-age actors. Titled Andhera Ujala 2, the series will follow various tracks in a series of episodes. One of them features Hamza Firdous, who is currently starring as the male lead in Seerat.
“I will be essaying a key role in one of the tracks that highlights a very important issue,” Hamza told Instep in an exclusive conversation. “Danish Taimoor will play the part essayed by Qavi Khan in the first installment while the series also features Irfan Motiwala and Ayaz Samoo.”
Hamza also informed that Irfan Khoosat and Qavi Khan will also be a part of Andhera Ujala 2. Directed by Aamir Yousaf, the upcoming sequel will center upon present day issues, so as to stay relevant to today’s viewers.
Apart from this, Hamza is also working on an upcoming feature film as well as a web series. Watch this space for more exclusive details.
