A Pakistan Day special telefilm, called Laal is currently in the works and will be featuring Bilal Abbas Khan in a key role. Generating a lot of appreciation for his portrayal of an anti-hero in ongoing drama serial Cheekh, the budding actor will be seen as a Navy officer in the upcoming telefilm.
“I don’t want to keep doing similar characters,” Bilal shared in a press statement, reflecting on the unique roles he takes up. “With each project, I test myself as an actor. Laal is a completely new experience, and my character, Behram, is a sophisticated, patriotic guy with a dream to serve in the Navy and will do anything for his country. He becomes a Naval officer, and there’s a powerful connection to the stone ‘laal’ and the message this telefilm has.”
Bilal also expressed that he is very excited for the role because it’s a tribute to Pakistan Navy. “I honestly couldn’t be more proud of what we’re trying to make here,” he added.
Aside from Bilal, the cast of Laal includes Kubra Khan, Adnan Jaffar, Gohar Rasheed, Saleem Meraj and Rashid Naz with whom the actor will be sharing screen space for the first time.
Written by Umera Ahmed and directed by Haseeb Hassan, Laal will be aired on March 23.
