Zara Noor Abbas, who is currently appearing in two TV plays, Lamhe and Qaid, is gearing up for her next serial, titled Deewar e Shab that also stars her mother, Asma Abbas and aunt, Bushra Ansari. The actress, who became a household name with her play Khamoshi, will also make her big screen debut with Asim Raza’s upcoming film, Parey Hut Love that is scheduled to release on Eid ul Azha 2019.

In a bid to know more about the upcoming play, Instep got in touch with Zara Noor Abbas, who shared that the play is set in the 1980s. “I can’t disclose much about the story at this point in time, but it’s a period drama in which I will essay the character of Feroza Jahaan,” Zara Noor told Instep. “In the play, you will see Bushra Ansari essaying the role of my mother, while my mother, Asma Abbas will be playing my khala (maternal aunt).”

Directed by Iqbal Hussain and written by Aliya Bukhari, Zara Noor Abbas claims that the upcoming drama serial is very different. “Deewar e Shab is based on Aliya Bukhari’s novel of the same name. Well, you can say that this play is something like Umrao Jaan, but of course the script is unique and fit for television. So it is nothing like what happens in Umrao Jaan.”

The drama also stars Nausheen Shah and Mohsin Abbas Haider in important roles apart from the lead characters. –Maria Shirazi
