With almost 100 food stalls offering both sweet and savoury items, the sixth edition of the festival is all set to commence on Friday and will continue till Sunday.

It is that time of the year again as Karachi Eat 2019, one of the highly anticipated food festivals, is all set to commence from January 11 to January 13, 2019. The fact is that Karachi Eat food festival has become an event that everyone looks forward to every year. The sixth outing of the festival will be held at the Beach View Park adjacent to Dolmen Mall as opposed to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park where it took place last year.

Organized by CKO Events Architecture, the main idea behind changing the venue is to promote public spaces and parks around the city and bring people together in public spaces.

While last year’s footfall was over 100,000 and featured a diverse range of cuisines including Parsi, Mexican, Sri Lankan, Middle Eastern, Thai, Chinese, Swiss, South Indian and many others, according to the organizers they are expecting more or less all of Karachi. So, we’ll have to wait till after the festival to find out the turnout at this year’s Karachi Eat.

Among the 100 eateries (chosen out of 500 applicants) that will be putting up their stalls at the festival this year, over half of these have never been at the Karachi Eat before.

It will feature a wide range of continental and desi dishes including biryani, burgers, doughnuts, cakes, snacks, smoothies, chullu kebab, khausuey and much more.

However, what makes the festival unique this year is that every eatery that is showing will have a star entrée - specifically created for Karachi Eat - which is not part of the regular menu. The organizers asked each one to prepare a unique item specifically for Karachi Eat. They were judged based on flavor, innovation presentation and food quality.
