Ammar Lasani and Kanza Zia’s award-winning feature film Gumm, which has had multiple international screenings and has won several accolades, is finally making its way to cinemas in Pakistan. Set to release nationwide on January 11, next year, the film features Sami Khan, who will be returning to the big screen after 15 years, Shamoon Abbasi and Shameen Khan in key roles.
Instep got in touch with co-director Ammar Lasani, who confirmed the film’s release date in Pakistan and also informed that this will be followed by an international release as well. The film’s recently released poster looks intense while the trailer is scheduled to come out next month.
“There will be a full-fledged marketing and promotional campaign running for the film from now till it releases in cinemas across Pakistan,” Ammar, who has also co-written the script with Kanza, told Instep. “We will release teasers (the first one is coming out on November 16) and more posters later this month, followed by the trailer in December. Distribution Club (IMGC) will be distributing the film.”
Produced by Shakeel Anjum, Gumm is a two-hour-long action-thriller and is a complete commercial film, according to the makers. The film was an official selection at international festivals including AAB International Film Festival (India), CKF International Film Festival (UK), Creation International Film Festival (Canada), Festigious International Film Festival (Los Angeles, USA), London City International Film Festival (UK) and Madrid Asia International Film Festival (Spain), among others.
