The actress is currently working on two television plays that are scheduled to go on air in the coming months.

Model and actress Mariyam Nafees has a number of popular TV projects to her credit including Diyar e Dil and Yakeen Ka Safar. She has also shot for Mehreen Jabbar’s upcoming play, Dil Kiya Karey in which she essays the role of an empathetic girl, Faryal, while the play stars Feroze Khan and Yumna Zaidi in key roles. While Dil Kiya Karey is yet to go on-air, Mariyam has taken up two more TV projects that she is currently working on.

One of them is called Kasa-e-Zaat that is being directed by Zeeshan Ahmed and has multiple tracks, according to the actress.

“Kasa-e-Zaat revolves around an elder sister Aima, played by Nadia Khan, who happens to be bossy and bitter,” Mariyam revealed. “The play is about how her decisions affect the lives of her siblings.”

Speaking of her character in the project, the actresses informed that she is playing the role of Faria, an American return who calls a spade, a spade. “She’s caring, empathetic and very blunt. She falls in love with the younger brother of Aima (Nadia Khan) and stands up for herself and the people around her,” Mariyam added.

This is in sharp contrast with the character Mariyam will be playing in another upcoming drama serial called Dil-e-Beherem, which is a revenge story. The actress will be seen as Alina, who has a special relationship with everyone in the family except for her Dado (grandmother).

“She is cute, chirpy and daddy’s little girl who gets everything she wants,” the actress shared. “She gets married to the love of her life but later realizes that life, people and marriages, aren’t as crystal clear as they seem.”

Dil-e-Berehem is being directed by Syed Ali Raza Usama and is about a household that is run majorly on the decisions made by a woman, essayed by Irsa Ghazal. She is playing Alina’s (Mariyam) mother in the play. Given that it’s a revenge story, Mariyam claims that it is not going to be another run of the mill play and has something unique to offer.

The play also features Amar Khan, Hina Bayat and Samina Ahmed in prominent roles. Dil-e-Beherem is expected to go on air in January next year whereas Kasa-e-Zaat will hit the small screen sometime around December 2018.
