Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan, the man behind blockbuster films like 3 Idiots, PK, Dangal and the most recent Secret Superstar, is gearing up for the release of Thugs of Hindostan alongside Amitabh Bachchan later this month. Speaking at a recent show, he revealed that he doesn’t charge a single penny for the films he stars in but rather takes a share in the profit.
“I don’t charge a single rupee for my films,” he shared. “It is my responsibility to take care that the cost is recovered and the whole crew has been paid. And when this is done, I get my share in profit. This gives me a sense of responsibility, of which you all can see the results.”
Earlier this year, the actor told IANS that he stopped charging fee for films a few years ago.
“If the film makes less money, I make less money, and if the film makes more money, I make more money,” he had informed.
The last couple of films that Aamir Khan made raked in a lot of money not just at the Indian box office but broke records in China too.
Coming back to his upcoming production, the much anticipated Thugs of Hindostan, the film features Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh aside from Khan and Bachchan. Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and producer by Yash Raj Films, it will hit cinema screens on November 8.
