Actor-director Sarmad Khoosat delivered a performance of a lifetime as Prisoner Z in his most recent effort, No Time To Sleep – a 24-hour-long, live act – that featured an account of the last 24 hours in a death row prisoner’s life. The performance as well as the entire concept generated immense praise for the actor and the entire team behind the production.
Khoosat recently took to Twitter to thank everyone who appreciated the effort and expressed his gratitude, via a video message, on the overwhelming response he received.
“I am overwhelmed with how you people responded, reacted and accepted this endeavour,” he said. “I am really thankful to all of you for being so generous with the praise, with the criticism, with the critique. Most of the reviews that I read on social media came straight from the heart. I am glad that all of you tried to understand the subject with all your heart.”
“It was a sensitive topic and it is not easy to have an opinion on such issues; there are confusions, misconceptions and complications. But it was important to talk about it. Art is not the only way to bring a good change in society but it can certainly play a key role in doing so,” he added.
He also went on to say that the entire team behind No Time To Sleep, including him, tried to adopt an honest way to deal with the topic and how people received it was left totally on them.
