It was just last year when Ali Noor, in collaboration with Strepsils Stereo, introduced a different music genre - acapella (singing unaccompanied by instruments) - to Pakistan. He began by recreating Alamgir’s iconic song ‘Khayal Rakhna’.
This Independence Day, Strepsils Stereo launched an original patriotic acapella track ‘Mera Pakistan’ featuring Ali Noor alongside 100 artists including Shiraz Uppal, Sara Haider, Saad Sultan, Ayesha Omar, Rabi Peerzada, Ahsan Parvez, Kami Paul and Kumail Jaffery among others. As part of the series, they’ve also released songs (in acapella format) such as ‘Rang De’ and ‘Dil Jo Chahey’.
Given the ingenuity of the project, it is not entirely shocking to learn that Strepsils Stereo’s acapella platform has won a bronze (award) in the music category at the Spikes Asia [Awards] 2018 that recently concluded in Singapore.
To share the news, Strepsils Pakistan took to social media and wrote on their official Facebook handle, “We are extremely thrilled to announce that Strepsils Stereo has won yet another award! This time a bronze in the Music Category at Spikes Asia 2018, a celebration of the best in Asia-Pacific advertising. We want to congratulate the entire team and our audience for all the love and support.”
The Spikes Asia 2018 is said to be Asia Pacific’s most inspiring creative festival that offers three days of learning, inspiration and networking for professionals in creative communications, while the Music Spikes celebrate creative musical collaborations and original music content. The good news is that more songs from the new season of Strepsils Stereo are set to release later this year, confirmed Ali Noor to Instep.
