Actor and host Sanam Baloch, who was last seen in drama serial Teri Raza alongside Sarmad Khoosat and Shahroz Sabzwari, has recently joined the cast of upcoming play, Alif. The serial is being directed by Haseeb Hasan of Mann Mayal fame, who also helmed air force film Parwaaz Hai Junoon. According to Sana Shahnawaz, who is co-producing the project with Samina Humayun Saeed, they are excited to have Sanam Baloch on-board. Initially, British-Pakistani actor Kubra Khan was supposed to be a part of Alif, but due to schedule issues Kubra had to opt out of the play. Moreover, Sajal Aly shared the news of Sanam Baloch joining the cast by posting a picture of the actor on her official Instagram handle, and captioned it, “Hamari Husn e Jahan #Alif #SanamBaloch.” Coming back to the play, Sana Shahnawaz in an earlier interview shared, “The drama is about soul searching; it is a passion project. It’s a beautiful script written by Umera Ahmed, who last wrote Zindagi Gulzar Hai in 2012.” Alif has an all-star cast including the likes of Sajal Aly, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahsan Khan, Osman Khalid Butt and model turned actor, Sadaf Kanwal among others. The play is scheduled to go on air later this year.
