Having shot to fame with Humsafar alongside Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, Naveen Waqar has appeared as a protagonist in a number of television dramas. With her last drama, Mah e Tamaam, having ended recently, she is gearing up for her next, titled Tajdeed e Wafa. She will be seen opposite singer turned actor Haroon Shahid, who is making his television acting debut with the project. He made his film debut with Shoaib Mansoor’s Verna last year.
The teasers for the play have started coming out and the play looks like a tragic tale of love that also features Ainy Jaffri and Ahmed Ali Akbar in key roles. Ainy will be seen as Ahmed’s love interest but the road to marriage isn’t an easy one for them while Naveen and Haroon essay a married couple, who have their own issues to deal with.
Naveen plays the role of Neha, whom, she says, she resembles in real life. “She is an independent working woman who is fierce and sassy with a practical approach to life,” Naveen shared information about her character, adding, “the biggest obstacle Neha is facing is that the love of her life resists in showing any sort of interest in making their marriage work.”
Written by Sameera Fazal and directed by Ilyas Kashmiri, Tajdeed e Wafa is currently being shot in Islamabad and it will go on air later this month.
