At the GQ Men of the Year Awards 2018, Rose McGowan became the first ever female recipient of the Inspiration Award while several Marvel actors also reunited and won awards.

Held at London’s Tate Gallery, the British GQ Men of the Year Awards 2018, now in its 21st year, was a smashing affair, mostly.

Rose McGowan became first ever female recipient of the Inspiration Award for being one of the biggest voices of the #MeToo movement as well as among the first women who spoke out against former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

Accepting her trophy, the 45-year-old activist and Charmed star stated, “I come in peace, truly. My monster paid off people in your industry… people [try to] ridicule me, to paint me as imbalanced and as a wh***.”

She added: “People ask if what I do is for women, it’s not. It’s for men. You’re sold an illusion from birth that you’re better. It’s in you to change and I see you as the humans as you are.

My platform is one of freedom [for] humanity. I want women to hate themselves less and know they deserve a seat at the table.”

Apart from her historic win, others who won at the GQ Awards include HRH Prince Charles, who was honoured with Editor’s Lifetime Achievement Award For Services To Philanthropy as well as Ralph Lauren (Design Legend), Donatella Versace (Designer), Jeff Goldblum (Haig Club Icon), Daniel Kaluuya (Actor), Elisabeth Moss (TV Actor), Naomi Campbell (Fashion Icon), John Legend (Hugo Boss Most Stylish Man), Johnny Marr (Lifetime Achievement) and Chadwick Boseman (International Man) among others.

Apart from the winners and the star-studded red carpet, several Marvel actors from various films reunited at the ceremony such as Tom Hiddleston, Jeff Goldblum, Chadwick Boseman and Chris Hemsworth. In addition to having a blast, Tom Hiddleston presented Jeff Goldblum with the Haig Club Icon Award and Chris Hemsworth presented Chadwick Boseman with the International Man of the Year Award.

Hosted by Rob Delaney, the ceremony also counted in attendance Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Olly Alexander, Sacha Baron Cohen, Isla Fisher and Dua Lipa.
