Film and TV actor Ali Kazmi has played the role of antagonist in some of his recent works including his last film Na Band Na Baraati that released earlier this year and social drama Baaghi that chronicled the life of Qandeel Baloch.
He won the Best Supporting Award for his role of a sleazy Dubai-returned character in Baaghi at the Pakistan Excellence Awards that took place this weekend.
The actor took to social media to express his gratitude and also thanked the entire cast and crew of the play including Saba Qamar, Osman Khalid Butt, Sarmad Khoosat, director Farooq Rind and many others. He also went on to thank his fans, family and friends for their love and support and praised all the women in his life as well as in the entire world.
“Truly honored to have won the Best Supporting Actor… for a very special TV series called Baaghi,” he wrote. “Baaghi had a purpose and I dedicate this award to all the amazing women in my life and the amazing women of Pakistan.
Don’t try to stop them; they are a beacon, a force of nature, our strength – a force that will drive Pakistan proudly into the future! So let’s do this together and be the change. Salute to women all over the world!”
