It feels great to see Pakistani films doing well at the box office and that not one or two but four of them are running successfully in cinemas across the country and beyond. One of those four is Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza’s social satire Load Wedding that stars Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat in lead roles and has generated mixed reviews and decent box office numbers so far.
Speaking of the film in an interview with Instep, veteran actor Faysal Qureshi shared that he simply loved the movie.
“It is better than Nabeel’s Actor In Law,” he said, adding that Na Maloom Afraad series isn’t the kind of films he likes. “The art work, picturization and plot of Load Wedding is outstanding. Fahad’s performance was way beyond while Mehwish was good too. It’s a treat to watch!”
The actor also said that filmmakers should make what they really feel like, not what sells. “People want to see good stories on the big screen and we should do that,” he said.
Coming back to Load Wedding, the film released on Eid ul Azha this year and is a well narrated comment on the social evil of dowry. It is currently running successfully in cinemas across Pakistan and beyond.
