This entire past week it has been circulating in the news that Mahira Khan and Bilal Ashraf have signed on for a movie, titled Superstar, which will be directed by Udaari-famed director Mohammad Ehteshamuddin. However, nothing concrete was announced on the subject officially.
We approached Bilal Ashraf to confirm the news and though he refused to comment on the subject until they started shooting for it, he didn’t deny it either. “Since there are so many speculations and things keep on changing till the last minute, I won’t speak on it until the film goes on floor,” he told Instep.
However, Mohammad Ehteshamuddin, who will be directing the film, confirmed that the film is in the pipeline and is scheduled to go on floors later this year.
“The news was supposed to be kept under wraps but I don’t know who revealed it,” he shared with Instep on the sidelines of a recent event. “However, we will begin shooting for it this year, only once I am done with the shoot of Aangan (period drama).”
He also confirmed that Mahira and Bilal will be playing lead roles in Superstar.
Mahira, who hasn’t spoken on the subject yet, opted out of Paray Hut Love earlier this year. We wonder if this film was the reason behind her decision. Time will tell.
