Ali Zafar honored with Pride of Pakistan Award in Los Angeles

Singer-songwriter and actor Ali Zafar, who made his cinematic debut in Pakistan with Ahsan Rahim’s Teefa in Trouble, was recently in Los Angeles, where he was honored with the Pride of Pakistan Award.

Ali Zafar, who was in LA for the promotion of Teefa was presented with the award on the annual Independence Day Celebration event that was held by the Pakistani community. Titled United for Pakistan Independence Day (UFPID), the award ceremony was followed by a performance by Ali Zafar, who sang the national anthem to a crowd of over 20,000 people.

After receiving the award, the singer and actor took to social media to share the news and also express his gratitude. “Thank you LA and the Pakistani community for this honour. There is no better joy to be able to bring joy to your people and make a difference. Pakistan Zindabad,” Ali Zafar wrote on his official Twitter handle.

Coming back to his film debut, which also introduces Maya Ali on the big screen, Teefa in Trouble is breaking records at the box office, making it the highest grossing Pakistani film of the year. According to Box Office Detail, the film has collected approximately 2.39 crores in its fourth week at the local box office while it has earned around 26.95 crores in total since its release in Pakistan on July 20.
