The actor informs that she is not a part of Badshah Begum anymore and is in talks for an upcoming TV play as well as a film that will go on floors next year.

With multiple credible projects to her credit, both on television as well as on the big screen, Saba Qamar needs no introduction. From TV plays like Maat, Mein Sitara, Thakan, Sangat, Besharam and the most recent Baaghi (that chronicled the life of Qandeel Baloch who was killed under the name of honour killing) to her Bollywood debut, Hindi Medium opposite Irrfan Khan, the actor has proven her mettle time and again. She also appeared in an Eid telefilm, called Dil Diyan Gallan with Zahid Ahmed as the male lead while she was featured in Shuja Haider’s recently released, socially relevant music video, ‘Jeevan Daan’.

Currently the Hindi Medium actor is all set to appear in an upcoming Eid ul Azha telefilm that she recently shot for in Karachi with singer-turned-actor Farhan Saeed, who is cast opposite her. Titled Iss Dil Ki Aisi Ki Tesi, the telefilm has been directed by Aehsun Talish, who also helmed Ramazan special transmission, Suno Chanda that got rave reviews from viewers.

“It’s a fun telefilm with a love story and some light hearted comedy,” she told Instep in a telephonic conversation. “It was a one-day job so I opted for it. Also, I wanted to work with new people and the team, including Farhan, was new and I worked with him for the first time. It was a good experience.”

Speaking of her upcoming projects, the actor revealed that she is no longer a part of Badshah Begum while she is in talks for another TV play that will go on floors sometime around October.

“I didn’t find that spark in the character I was offered,” she shared. “I feel masses should be able to relate to the characters we play onscreen. There should be substance and strong content. It’s better to do nothing than doing something just for the sake of it. Don’t be busy; be productive.”

She also informed that she is in talks for some future TV and film projects. “There is a movie in the pipeline that will go on floors early next year,” she concluded.
