The Ali Zafar and Maya Ali starrer action comedy, Teefa in Trouble that released on July 20 in Pakistan and beyond, is running successfully in cinemas across Pakistan. The film became the highest opening day grosser in Pakistan, raking in a total of 2.3 crore on its opening day, and broke all previous box office records. No other Pakistani film has achieved this number on its first day in the past.
After almost two weeks of the film’s release, Teefa in Trouble holds strong, despite the release of Mission: Impossible - Fallout. The film saw a huge growth at the end of its second weekend, beating Mission Impossible 6 on Sunday and collected over 15.52 crore in total.
While it remains on top among Pakistani films that released so far this year, it is also the 5th highest grossing film of 2018 (including Bollywood and Hollywood films) at the local box office. So far, Teefa in Trouble has raked in 22.31 crore in total, globally, and is expected to bag the fourth spot among highest grossing films.
The film marks ad filmmaker and music video director Ahsan Rahim’s big screen directorial debut and also stars Mehmood Aslam, Asma Abbas, Faisal Qureshi and Jawed Sheikh in key roles aside from Ali Zafar and Maya Ali, who made their Pakistani film debut with Teefa in Trouble.
