With lyrics, vocals and composition by Ali Zafar and co-sung by Aima Baig, the song is a light ditty with music by Naqash Haider.

Ahsan Rahim-directed upcoming film, Teefa in Trouble, has a leading man, Ali Zafar, who has a much bigger role in the film than most people realize. For the action-comedy, set to release on July 20, Zafar has produced most of the music and written both lyrics and dialogues. He has also co-written the story and screenplay alongside Ahsan Rahim and brother Danyal Zafar. The film is presented by his banner, Lightingale Productions and he is the executive producer of the film and has partnered with Yash Raj Films, Geo Films and Mandviwalla Entertainment for the film’s release.

Those roles of Zafar are slowly emerging as Teefa in Trouble gets closer to a release. The first sign is the film’s music. Having launched the first song, ‘Item Number’ with a well-attended event in Lahore last month, the second song from the soundtrack, ‘Chan Ve’ has been released.

In complete contrast to the first track, ‘Chan Ve’ is a light ditty backed by strong visuals. The song is sung by Ali Zafar and Aima Baig. While Zafar has also written the lyrics, music for this song has been given by Naqash Haider.

“The music for Teefa in Trouble is being distributed in Pakistan by Lightingale Productions, who have collaborated exclusively with the Times Music’s Junglee Music for international distribution,” noted a press release.

Speaking about writing this song, Ali Zafar said in a press statement, “‘Chan Ve’ is one of my personal favourites. It is difficult to write poetry for one song in two languages which is what I hoped to do for ‘Chan Ve’ which is in Punjabi and English. But while the song speaks two languages, the most important is that of love; and that is what ‘Chan Ve’ is all about.”

Director Ahsan Rahim also endorsed the song, stating: “‘Chan Ve’ is my absolute favourite from the list of music tracks. I remember when Ali made me listen to it, we really didn’t have that much of a space in the screenplay but listening to the song inspired [me] to create that space as a travel song. Once we went to shoot it, we came across the most beautiful locations on the way, the warmest of sunlight and clouds that moved with music. The song blew with the wind as we were shooting it, leaving us with countless memories.”

Lux Style Award winning singer, Aima Baig, who co-sang the track, said in a statement, “‘Chan Ve’ has its own very magnetic vibe. It is super catchy and for me it is one of those ‘must have’ songs in one’s music list! Recording this with Ali was great fun.”

Teefa in Trouble also stars Maya Ali, Javed Sheikh, Mahmood Aslam and Faisal Qureshi among others and will release later this month.
