Known for his comic roles, Yasir Hussain made his debut in romantic comedy Karachi Se Lahore in 2015, followed by its sequel Lahore Se Aagey (2016). But this time around, the actor, comedian and host will play an antagonist in his upcoming play Baandi.

“The play has been penned by Asma Nabeel of Khaani fame, and directed by Amna Nawaz Khan who also directed the popular drama serial Maat (2011),” Yasir told Instep.

When asked about his character, the actor revealed, “You will see me in a different role altogether as I will be essaying my first ever negative character. It is a small role but I am really excited to play the part of a Sindhi wadera in Baandi.”

According to the actor, the play has an all-star cast including Muneeb Butt, Aiman Khan and Hina Dilpazeer. “There are multiple tracks in the play,” he continued. “One of them features Aiman and my character; and we both come from the same village, of which I am the wadera.”

Yasir also shared that Hina Dilpazeer will be seen in a negative character. “Baandi has a realistic element to it and I am sure the audience will enjoy the play as it is my first role as a villain,” said Yasir. The play is scheduled to go on air later this year.
