After a small hiatus, director Mehreen Jabbar returns to the small screen with an upcoming drama serial called Dil Kiya Karey that features an all-star cast. In between, she directed films including Dobara Phir Se (2016) that had a decent opening and multiple award-winning Lala Begum that has been screened at a number of national and international film festivals.
Coming back to television with Dil Kiya Karey, the project features Feroze Khan as Armaan with Yumna Zaidi playing his love interest. Model-actor Mariyam Nafees, who recently shot for a music video, will be essaying the role of Armaan’s sister, Faryal, “a very loving and empathetic girl”, according to Mariyam.
The shoot for the drama recently came to an end in Karachi after three months. Director of the project, Mehreen Jabbar shared some images with the cast and crew on her official Instagram handle to announce this and also thanked the team for their hard work. “90/91 days, it’s a wrap for Dil Kiya Karey. Thank you for an unforgettable ride and all the hard work,” she wrote.
Aside from Feroze (who continues to win hearts with his performance in ongoing drama Khaani), Yumna and Mariyam, the star cast of Dil Kiya Karey also includes Sarmad Khoosat, Sonia Rehman, Shamim Hilaly, Abid Ali, Tanveer Jamal, Marina Khan and Zain Baig. The drama is scheduled to go on air later this year. Watch out!
