It was recently announced that Air Force film Parwaaz Hai Junoon, which was supposed to release on Eid ul Fitr, has been pushed to Eid ul Azha along with Load Wedding and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2.
Now recent reports suggest that Na Band Na Baraati (NBNB), initially scheduled to release on July 6, 2018, will now hit cinemas nationwide this Eid ul Fitr – clashing with Mahira Khan and Sheheryar Munawar-starrer 7 Din Mohabbat In, Jawed Sheikh’s Wajood and Azaadi featuring Moammar Rana and Sonya Hussyn.
While the Central Board of Film Censors has recently issued a statement against the screening of Indian films on the occasions of Eid, the decision of moving the film to Eid ul Fitr, according to the press statement, “was made in an effort to support the initiative taken by the Federal Government of Pakistan to strengthen the local film industry.”
Regarding the decision Mr Zain Farooqi, the producer of Na Band Na Baraati stated, “Since Indian movies will now be releasing around the date of our earlier release plan, it also makes more sense to take advantage of the government’s decision and release NBNB this Eid, keeping in mind its genre and to make the most of the government’s decision.”
Directed by Mahmood Akhtar, Na Band Na Baraati is a family comedy which has been shot entirely in Canada and has an all-star cast including Mikaal Zulfiqar, Ali Kazmi, veteran actors Qavi Khan, Atiqa Odho and Azra Mohyeddin among others.
