Why Parwaaz Hai Junoon release is pushed to Eid-ul-Azha

Parwaaz Hai Junoon, that features an all-star cast including Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahad Raza Mir, Hania Amir, Kubra Khan and Shaz Khan, was supposed to release this Eid-ul-Fitr. However, according to recent development, the release of the film, which is directed by Haseeb Hassan and written by Farhat Ishtiaq has been pushed to Eid-ul-Azha.

“There are six films releasing this Eid and currently our industry is not strong enough to support the release of so many films together,” producer of the film Momina Duraid explained the reason behind the delay in a recent statement.

However, given that some big banner films such as Load Wedding and JPNA2 are slated for release on Eid ul Azha, we feel that the competition is even tougher for PHJ than it would have been alongside 7 Din Mohabbat In, Wajood and Azaadi.

We got in touch with the producer to find out her take on the subject.

“I believe Eid-ul-Azha can take the load of three films and as all three films Parwaaz, JPNA 2 and Load Wedding are big films from renowned producers, with good casts and hopefully good scripts. Chances are that they will give each other a good footfall,” Momina Duraid told Instep. “A very important factor is that the three films are of very different genres. Also, there is no big Indian release in the international market, giving these films a good chance to perform in the international markets. Also, new screens are being added in Pakistan as well, which will surely help. Furthermore, as Pakistan celebrates the Air Force Week from September 1 till 7, PHJ releasing a week before naturally fits with the celebration of PAF by the entire nation around the same time.”
