Faizan Khawaja returned to the limelight with his big screen debut Chupan Chupai that released in December, last year. The film generated respectable numbers at the local box office while it attracted praise for the actor who played a prominent role in the film. Currently essaying a key role in Ishq Tamasha, that is among the top rated TV plays, Faizan is gearing up for multiple small screen projects. While the actor just wrapped up shooting for Sodai, he is gearing up for his next, called Nisbat, for which he recently began shooting.
“I’m playing a law graduate from London who’s in love with his cousin, essayed by Minal Khan,” Faizan told Instep. “However, she is getting engaged to another cousin, Taimoor, who also happens to be my best friend. The story starts with a love triangle with a series of twists that carry the narrative forward.”
The actor also informed that the play is being directed by Mohsin Talat and is scheduled to go on-air on July 2. Other actors in the cast include Saad Quraishi, Yashma Gill and veterans like Zainab Qayyum, Khalid Anum, Annie Zaidi and Humaira Bano, among others.
Faizan has done few but diverse roles in his acting career so far. He is brilliant as a pampered younger brother and an intense lover in the ongoing drama Ishq Tamasha that also features Aiman Khan, Junaid Khan and Kinza Hashmi in prominent roles. Given his range as an actor, we hope he fits in his upcoming characters well and pulls them off with finesse.
