Farjad Nabi and Meenu Gaur’s next, 7 Din Mohabbat In, featuring Sheheryar Munawar, Mahira Khan, Mira Sethi and Aamna Ilyas in prominent roles, is set to release on Eid ul Fitr, this year. It’s a romantic comedy and follows the life of Tipu (Sheheryar) as he embarks on a journey to find true love. One of the women he comes across is Princess Sonu, essayed by the effervescent Mira Sethi.

“7DMI is a comedy and it sets the tone for what it is that you’re trying to do,” Mira shared in a recent interview. “This is more of an overt-comedy, so my character is glamorous but in inverted commas. She’s not hollow or glamorous in a very realist sense. In the context of comedy, she’s a comedic role. In no way would a glamorous role in a realist sense be problematic either, it could be written exceptionally well or be a critique of glamour.”

Mira is playing the role of a British-Pakistani in the film for which she had to familiarize herself with heavy British accent of Bradford. British-born Princess Sonu is more of confused desi.

Speaking of portraying comic roles and viewers connecting to it, Mira added, “The movie sets certain conventions and if the audience adapts to that, it becomes a successful piece of art. Sohai (Ali Abro), for instance, in Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, had long nails and an accent, but it was comedic, so you were supposed to laugh with her or even at her, whichever way.”
