Tooba Siddqui, after taking a short career break, returned to the limelight with Mehreen Jabbar’s film Dobara Phir Se (2016), followed by her TV serial Iltija, in which she essayed the role of a mother of two disabled children. While her last play addressed the issue of Down Syndrome, which is a very common medical condition in our part of the world, Tooba’s upcoming drama serial, titled Dushman, alongside Mohib Mirza is about “love, regret and mistakes”.

When asked about her character in the play, Tooba told Instep, “I essay the character of Ramsha who is a very family oriented, strong headed and proud girl.”

According to the actor, there are lots of twists and turns in the play. Apart from Tooba and Mohib, Dushman has a very strong cast including veteran actors Irfan Khoosat, Saba Hameed, Madiha Imam and others. “It’s very interesting how all the characters come together in the play,” said Tooba.

The play has been directed by Amin Iqbal and speaking about her director, Tooba observed, “Amin Iqbal is very thorough about his work and I had a great experience working with him.”

The play will go on air later this year.
