Mehreen Jabbar’s upcoming TV project Dil Kiya Karey, which is currently being shot in Karachi, has generated a lot of hype ever since it was announced. While it marks Mehreen’s return to television after a small hiatus, it features an all-star cast including industry veterans such as Shamim Hilaly, Marina Khan, Sonia Rehman, Sarmad Khoosat, Abid Ali and Tanveer Jamal aside from Feroze Khan, Yumna Zaidi, Mariyam Nafees and Zain Baig.
Feroze and Yumna, who will share screen space for the first time, will essay the role of each other’s love interest while Mariyam Nafees will be seen as Feroze’s sister, Faryal.
“Faryal is a very loving and empathetic girl,” Mariyam told Instep about her character. “She shares a special bond with her brother and thinks that marriage isn’t the ultimate goal for a girl. She’s independent and faces such situations that a lot of girls are going to relate with her.”
The model-actor also informed that there are a lot of messages this character gives. “I hope people, especially girls, understand them,” she added.Some of Mariyam’s prominent works include Diyar e Dil, Kuch Na Kaho and the most recent Yakeen Ka Safar that starred Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly in lead roles.
Coming back to her upcoming play, Dil Kiya Karey is “about love, loss and survival and about growing old,” according to director Mehreen Jabbar who also shared that, “the story is about moving on after a loss and doing something for society.”
