Starting with theatre, followed by multiple TV projects, Hareem Farooq ventured into the world of films a couple of years back, both as an actor as well as a producer. She played an educated, modern day woman in Mehreen Jabbar’s Dobara Phir Se (2016), followed by the role of a gangster in this year’s first release, Parchi. With multiple films to her credit, the actor-producer is gearing up to return to television with drama serial Main Khayal Hoon Kisi Aur Ka. The shooting for the play has begun and it is scheduled to go on air after Eid ul Fitr.
“It’s a complicated love story with lots of twists and turns to keep the viewers hooked to the TV screens,” Hareem told Instep. “It is a soft, romantic drama which revolves around love, sacrifice and relationships.”
Speaking of her character in the upcoming project, she shared, “My character is that of a simple girl, Dania, who is entangled in a lot of emotions and complications, is forced into marriage. This character is not one of the roles I have previously played.”
Aside from Hareem, Main Khayal Hun Kisi Aur Ka features Ali Rehman Khan and Alamdar Hussain (who is making his debut) in lead roles. Directed by Emraan Kaleem Mallick, the upcoming play marks her production house, IRK Films’ debut in the television industry.
