Geo TV’s upcoming play, Mera Khuda Jane, that stars Hira Mani, Ali Abbas and Anum Fayyaz in lead roles, is all set to go on air next month. Scheduled to commence from May 2, the play revolves around the themes of second marriage, love, loss and betrayal.
The teasers of the upcoming project have started coming out and they look intriguing. With the prevalent issue of second marriage for the sake of a child as the central theme, the play follows the life of Roohi (essayed by Hira Mani). She is married to Waleed (Ali Abbas) for six years without a child and this becomes more of a curse for Roohi. Her mother in law gets Waleed married to Iqra, played by Anum Fayyaz and this is the turning point for Roohi and Waleed’s relationship.
While it may not be a unique theme to be explored on television, we hope it manages to offer something different than what we have already seen. We’ll have to wait and watch what the future holds in store for Roohi after her husband’s second marriage.
Produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi, the play also features Alyy Khan in a key role.
