After bidding adieu to her acting career, actor Aisha Khan has moved on to the next phase of her life.
Popular actor Aisha Khan recently tied the knot with Major Uqbah Hadid in an intimate wedding ceremony, after bidding farewell to her acting career almost a month back. Her wedding was a very private affair but images of every event hit and internet, and we couldn’t help but admire her simple and sophisticated style choices.
Aisha chose a traditional all-yellow ensemble for her mayoon, and opted for a maroon and off-white mehndi outfit. For her nikah ceremony, the star opted for a stunning gold, off-white and green hyrbrid gharara.
Aisha took to social media to announce her departure from the Pakistani entertainment industry in March, and followed up that announcement with news of her engagement with Major Uqbah Hadid. She also posted a picture of herself and her fiancé on her official Instagram handle and wrote, “My fiancé and I are overwhelmed with all the love and prayers that have poured in. I had made my announcement to leave my media career as I now prefer to stay away from the limelight.” She added, “We got engaged last year and have known each other for several years before. We request privacy from here on and expect everybody to respect our decision of keeping our wedding a small family affair. Please remember us and our families in your prayers!”
The former actor’s announcement of quitting the entertainment industry came as a shock to many. “With great pleasure and humility I have decided to bid farewell to our wonderful media industry. I am bowing out with immense satisfaction and a lot of pride to move on to the next phase of my life. At this point I’d like to thank everyone who I have worked with in the industry and people outside of it especially my fans and well wishers who have supported me unconditionally and appreciated my work. I have grown and developed and met many wonderful people in this industry to whom I’m ever so grateful,” she stated on her social media pages. “I have always tried to keep my professional and personal life separate and request everyone to understand please. I would also like to let my colleagues and friends know about the limitation that I might have had in accepting new projects since 2016 out of which a few scripts stayed with me for a long time. My apologies. As I move on in life to discover how fate unfolds, I would request my well wishers to remember me and my parents in their prayers. #forevergrateful.”
With almost 18 years of doing selective work and developing a strong work ethic, Aisha Khan has delivered some amazing performances and has plays such as Mehndi, Mujhe Khuda Pe Yaqeen Hai, Mann Mayal and Khuda Mera Bhi Hai to her credit. As far as films are concerned, she also starred in Bilal Lashari’s directorial debut Waar and Nadeem Baig’s Jawani Phir Nahi Aani (2015) alongside Humayum Saeed, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Sarwat Gilani and Ahmed Ali Butt among others.
