After giving us the urban coming of age story, Ho Mann Jahaan featuring Mahira Khan, Adeel Husain and Sheheryar Munawar in 2016, director Asim Raza is gearing up for another big screen project. Currently in the works, the film is being scripted by Imran Aslam (President of the Jang Group who is also an acclaimed script writer), Asim confirmed to us in a recent interview.
“My next film is very exciting for me because Imran Aslam is writing it,” he told Instep on the sidelines of the ‘Mein Bhi’ music video launch where he was present to support the cause. “We are writing the script and we’re almost done with it. Once we lock the script, we’ll get into production and I hope we’ll be in a good shape then to actually start shooting it by the end of this year.”
When asked whom does he plan to cast in the film, he added, “It depends on the characters that Imran writes and accordingly we’ll cast actors for the film. I can’t say much about it right now.”
However, speaking of the film’s genre, Asim informed that it is going to be contemporary, romantic love story.
Asim is known for his ad films and aside from Ho Mann Jahaan, his telefilm Behadd featuring Fawad Khan, Nadia Jamil and Sajal Aly was received well by the audience. Let’s wait and see what the filmmaker holds in store for us next.
