NAPA International Theatre and Music Festival kicks off in Karachi

Like every year, NAPA International Theatre and Music Festival returns to the limelight with another edition that will feature the works of local and international artists. It is the only theatre and music festival in Pakistan that showcases theatre plays and music performances from multiple countries. This year, the line-up includes representatives from USA, Palestine, UK, UAE, Egypt, Switzerland, Germany, Palestine, Iran, England, Czech Republic and Pakistan.

The festival opened with a dance act, Taal Ang featuring Nahid Siddiqui and Nafees Ahmed, which will be followed by a dance sequence, Lighting by Anna Konjetsky from Germany tonight. Other acts that will be performed during the 17-day run include Raag Madhuvanti Ke Rung that will feature music director/ composer and NAPA graduate Nigel Bobby and Paul Livingstone from USA, Resurrection (Egypt), Piano and Violin Concert by Jakub Junek and Karel Vrtiska (Czech Republic), Shehr e Afsos by Madeeha Gauhar (Pakistan) and Measure for Measure by Zia Mohyeddin, among other productions.

Currently taking place at NAPA in Karachi, the festival began yesterday and will run till the end of this month, that is, March 31. The plays are performed at 8pm daily at the Zia Mohyeddin theatre, NAPA, while tickets, priced at rupees 600, are available at the venue.
