After a decade of runway fashion and display of creative designs, PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week returns to the fashion calendar with its 11th edition this year. Scheduled to take place from March 9 till March 11 in Lahore, PSFW 2018 aims to take the concept of solo and duo shows a step further.
The show will open with a new segment dedicated to the curation and projection of indigenous craft within high-end design, which will be in collaboration with jewellery designer Reama Malik. For this segment, four designers – Akif Mahmood, Hamza Bokhari, Shahroz Tariq and Zonia Anwaar – will be showcasing four-piece capsule collections each, turning distinct sub-continental craft into updated design-led and globally relevant luxury retail pieces.
In addition, luxury/prêt showcases will feature designers such as Arjumand Bano, Fahad Hussayn, Hira Ali, HSY, Hussain Rehar, Misha Lakhani, Mona Imran, Nida Azwer, Republic by Omar Farooq, Saira Shakira, Sania Maskatiya, Shiza Hassan and Zonia Anwaar whereas high-street prêt-a-porter shows will have Image, Rici Melion, Saira Rizwan and Shirin Hassan. Keeping with tradition, PSFW 2018 will also feature textile brands Khaas, Rouge, Rung Rasiya and So Kamal in the Textile Mill/Voile segment.
It’s not the best lineup one has seen on this celebrated platform and it’s additionally demoralizing to see PSFW being reduced from it’s initial four day run to three days only. Only the event itself will ascertain whether it retains its energy, vibe and value or not.
