The Coke Food and Music Festival in Karachi has a lot in store not just for food fans but also for music aficionados.
Coca-Cola Food Festival’s second edition that began in Lahore is scheduled to conclude in Karachi. The three-day food and music event will commence from March 9 at Beach Park, Clifton Karachi and will end on Sunday.
The festival has a lot in store not just for food fans but also for music aficionados. Several artists who are set to play the festival have appeared on various editions of Coke Studio and it’s good to see that they have also been given a chance to belt out some of those hits on a live platform. Among them is Ali Sethi, who stole our hearts with his beautiful rendition of Mehdi Hasan’s ‘Ranjish Hi Sahi’ and the collaborative ‘Tinak Dhin’ and other CS luminaries such as Nabeel Shaukat, Asim Azhar and Sahir Ali Bagga.
At one of the nation’s biggest food and music festivals, foodies will have a chance to experience and explore 70 leading and burgeoning traditional/ contemporary restaurants and 30 caterers, home chefs et al food stalls at this nonstop ‘Party in the Park’, while music enthusiasts will get to see a huge variety of artists, including Pakistan’s favourite and longest running music group, Strings. Other artists who will take the stage during this festival include names like Sahara UK and Quadrum.
Reflecting on the festival, CEO at Activemedia Saad M. Khan, said in a statement, “This is the second season of Coca-Cola Food and Music Festival and we have already come a long way. Expanding to five cities with hundreds of food stalls and the biggest artists on stage, the festival is set to break all records.”
Moreover, #CokeFest spokesperson Asad Sheikh, founder of the influential food collective Foodies ‘R Us stated, “Food is the only common denominator between every culture and it’s the only thing that brings people together.”
What better way to witness chefs working their magic through cooking demonstrations while the attendees enjoy a stellar line up of live music along with other fun-filled activities?
Last year the lineup of music performances at Coca-Cola Food & Music Festival included Strings, Ali Sethi, Asim Azhar, Sahara UK and Quadrum. Apart from that Khumariyaan, Farhad Humayun & Overload, Nabeel Shaukat, Horya Asmat, Malaika Faisal, Waheed Khan and Damia Farooq also enthralled the audience.
The festival is expected to attract a crowd of more than 40,000 food enthusiasts’ from Karachi and surrounding areas. Tickets for the event are priced at PKR 300 and can be purchased in advance from https://www.easytickets.pk/ and will also be available at the venue.
Given the number of live amazing performers as well as the variety of food, it sounds like an event that no one should miss. Watch out!
