After recreating Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s romantic number ‘Sanu Ek Pal’ for Ajay Devgn and Ileana D’Cruz starrer Raid, another chart-topping melody by the late legendary singer has been recreated for the duo’s upcoming crime-drama. While some parts of the song, titled ‘Nit Khair Manga’, have been rewritten by lyricist Manoj Muntashir, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has sung the recreated version.
Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat and Abhishek Pathak.
While talking to Mumbai Mirror, Raj Kumar Gupta stated, “The song has been picturised on Ajay, who plays an upright and no-nonsense income tax officer, and Ileana, who will be seen in the role of his supportive and brave wife.” He added, “The song offers a glimpse into the onscreen couple’s life and the love, care and warmth they share in the film. It’s shot across Lucknow including landmark locations such as Hussainabad Clock Tower, Rumi Darwaza, Bada Imambada, Kudiya Ghat and Residency.” According to composer Tanishk Bagchi, when you hear the new version, you’ll understand that the entire song is new but while having retained the original romantic number’s essence. He further went on to say that the good part about Rahat’s singing is that he understands the feel of a song which always helps.
Starring Ajay Devgn and Ileana D’Cruz in lead roles, Raid is slated to hit cinemas on March 16, 2018.
