She becomes the first ever celebrity from Pakistan to attend the fashion and beauty’s most sought after calendar event – New York Fashion Week (NYFW) 2018. As Pakistan’s Spokesperson for Maybelline New York for the second time round, Ayesha had an exclusive meet-up with the brand’s global ambassadors Gigi Hadid, Emily Didonato and Jourdan Dunn before the Maybelline party in New York.
Speaking to Instep about her NYFW experience, Ayesha stated, “Being here and representing Pakistan at this international platform is surely a huge honor. I was so humbled when I was signed on for another year by Maybelline and I couldn’t believe it when they told me that they will be sending to me to New York Fashion Week. And they have actually made it happen just like their tagline ‘Make IT Happen’.” She continued, “Over here, not only did I meet the Global Maybelline New York team, but also visited the head quarters, their content studios along with shooting makeup tutorials, attending runway shows and press events.”
Regarding the schedule, Ayesha shared, “It’s literally manic, the schedule is crazy and of course I am like a one-man show, so I am trying to put my best foot forward and get all the looks right. I keep corresponding with a couple of stylists back in Pakistan and there are a few makeup artists we have used here as well. It’s just amazing and a lot of fun. We are still in the middle of the trip and there is a lot more to come and the good news is that it is all being documented and you will get to see everything. It is obviously a privilege because it is the first time that someone from Pakistan is representing an international makeup brand in New York, which is the fashion capital of the world. It is definitely a dream come true.”
