It is often said that television is more of a woman’s world than a man’s. Though women are mostly portrayed in regressive roles, their stories are at the heart of TV serials worldwide and local television is no different. Our channels are overflowing with women-centric plots that talk about their lives and miseries. However, there are a few projects that have men as central characters and shed light on their struggles; one such example is the recently concluded Daldal that revolved around the character of Zahid Ahmed.
The most recent addition to the list is Geo TV’s upcoming drama serial Khalish that is all set to go on air from tomorrow. Starring Faysal Qureshi, who is known for associating with male-centric projects like Bashar Momin, the upcoming project will highlight a man’s struggle.
Speaking about the drama in a recent interview, Faysal shared, “Khalish is a love-hate, revenge story about a battle between a son and father.”
He also shared that the story revolves around his character who breaks an entire empire – beginning from a small house. “He is also a lost lover who loses the one he loves. The character rises above his circumstances and turns into a stronger person. It’s a complete high-voltage drama,” Faysal added.
Teasers of the project hint at an intense revenge drama. Faysal loses his mother because his father left them and he is determined to take revenge from his father, essayed by Asif Raza Mir. Directed by Syed Ali Raza Usama and produced by Aijaz Aslam, Khalish also stars Sunita Marshal and Kamran Jilani in pivotal roles.
