The film not only had a record breaking run in India but also saw roaring success in China, becoming one of the most successful and biggest Bollywood blockbusters in the country. According to latest reports, the Chinese IMDb has ranked Dangal at number one after an annual survey and the film becomes the first to witness overseas collections that are at par with domestic numbers.

Starring Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra in key roles, Dangal follows the story of former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, who trains his young daughters Geeta and Babita to follow in his footsteps and become world-class grapplers.
Aside from India and China, the film performed really well in the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Taiwan and other countries.
Some recent reports suggest that the film raked in over Rs 2000cr worldwide. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal also features Zaira Wasim who was the lead in Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar that released earlier this year.
