Super star Shaan Shahid, who returns to the big screen with Arth later this month, is currently busy promoting the film in Karachi. In a recent interview, the actor reflected on his upcoming film, the evolution of Pakistani cinema and his contemporaries, among other things.
Speaking about Mahira Khan, who plays the protagonist in Shoaib Mansoor’s latest release Verna, Shaan said that she has done a great job in the film. “Mahira is beautiful, Mahira is intelligent, Mahira has done such good work in that film [Verna]!” he observed and added: “But unfortunately the script did not support her, I don’t know why she picked up the script.”
The actor also spoke about his Yalghaar costar Humayun Saeed, whose last film, Punjab Nahi Jaungi did wonders on the box office. When asked which male actor is doing well according to him, Shaan responded with Saeed’s name saying, “Humayun is really good, very focused on what he does but I think right now he’s in a different sort of mindset where he’s trying to find that balance between the films he makes.”
Coming back to Shaan’s upcoming film Arth, it has been written, directed and co-produced by him. It also stars Mohib Mirza, Humaima Malick and Uzma Hassan in pivotal roles and is scheduled to release on December 21, the same day when Rangreza is also coming out.
