It is always a step forward for local cinema when Pakistani films make it to international festivals, allowing audiences outside Pakistan an access to local content. While multiple films have been screened in the festival circuit in recent past such as Dobara Phir Se and Rahm, the latest names include Nabeel Qureshi’s Na Maloom Afraad 2 and Rehan Sheikh’s Azad.
Na Maloom Afraad 2 and Azad will be representing Pakistani cinema at the South Asian International Film Festival 2017 that is scheduled to take place from December 13 - 17. The films will premiere at the upcoming festival on the 15th (Azad) and 16th (Na Maloom Afraad 2) of December.
Starring Rehan Sheikh, Sanam Saeed and Salman Shahid in pivotal roles, Azad is a comedy film that follows the story of a radio jockey while Na Maloom Afraad 2 is the sequel to super hit film Na Maloom Afraad that revolves around the lives of three men. The film features Fahad Mustafa, Mohsin Abbas Haider and Jawed Sheikh in prominent roles while it also stars Urwa Hocane and Hania Amir.
