TV and film actor Syra Shahroz, who made her feature film debut with Umer Adil’s Chalay Thay Saath earlier this year, has always taken up roles that are progressive, particularly on the big screen. While she essayed the role of a doctor in CTS, she will be seen as a scientist in the upcoming superhero film, Project Ghazi. It was reported recently that Syra had signed on for the sequel of Nadeem Baig’s blockbuster movie, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani but then she opted out of it.

We contacted the actor to confirm the news and find out what made her turn the offer down.“Yes, I opted out of it [JPNA2],” Syra told Instep. “Simply, because after reading the script I knew I didn’t want to play that character. I’m all about experimenting and challenging myself but it’s got to be substantial and I didn’t think it was.”

Coming back to Project Ghazi, the film’s release was postponed post its premiere earlier this year. According to the producers, the film that stars Humayun Saeed, Sheheryar Munawar and Syra Shahroz was incomplete at that point and they didn’t want to release it that way.Responding to when Project Ghazi is coming out, Syra said, “I’m not sure yet. Last I heard they were aiming for December but let’s see.”
