Whether its philanthropy or international forums, you’re sure to find at least a few big B-town names associated with the event; so of course, the current World Economic Forum’s India Summit is no different.

Taking place in New Delhi, the three-day summit included various discussion sessions regarding India’s economics and trade, apart from talks like culture and health.

Part of the film discussion on narratives and the economy of the industry, Karan Johar, and Alia Bhatt spoke at length about the business of film.

“When we talk about my industry, the movies, I feel extremely unfortunate when we say that we are not really on an upward swing at the moment. Cinema and cricket used to be two forces of entertainment on our land, and now, we (cinema) are fighting so many obstacles internally with other verticals,” Karan said at the event.

Apart from Alia and Karan, Deepika Padukone was also a part of WEF’s day 2. The actress participated in a session on depression and mental health. Being the founder and trustee of The Live Love Laugh Foundation, Deepika discussed mental health and depression at the India Summit with Dr. Murali Doraiswamy and Barkha Dutt.

“I don’t think I can say that I’m completely over it (depression). There is always a fear at the back of my mind that I might have a relapse because it has been such a bad experience for me,” the actress was quoted as saying at the event.
