Veteran Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who was put behind bars owing to the Bombay bombing case, recently made his cinematic comeback with Bhoomi post his release from the jail. In a recent interview with a leading Indian daily, the actor opened up about his struggles, the time he spent in jail and his relationship with family and kids.

“You have to forget what is in the past and move on,” he shared. “I learnt a lot from the 25 years the case was in court and my five years in jail. So all I can say now is, you should be positive and take things in your stride.”

Responding to whether he fears his children’s reaction once they learn about his past, the actor shared, “Honestly, I don’t fear that my kids will start hating me after knowing my story. That’s the truth and they have to know it and live with it. I feel it is better that they hear it from me than from somebody else. And, of course, once they know everything, they can learn from that too. I spend a lot of time with them now. They were too young when I was in jail. And if you ask me, I’d say I was lucky that it happened at that time.”
