Brad Pitt’s personal life may be in turmoil but that hasn’t kept him from working nonstop. He’s quickly moved on from World War Z sequel that has been pulled off from Paramount’s release schedule and is preparing for the sci-fi film, Ad Astra in which he is joined by Tommy Lee Jones. While World War Z could be helmed by longtime Pitt collaborator David Fincher but is currently in doldrums as the hunt for a director is on, it’s Ad Astra that could provide Pitt some accolades.
According to reports, in the film, Pitt will star as “slightly autistic Roy McBride, an Army Corps engineer who searches across the galaxy for his father, Clifford McBride (Tommy Lee Jones), who disappeared on a mission to Neptune seeking clues on extra-terrestrial intelligence”.
Apart from this film, Pitt is also in the news because he is interested in setting up a luxury resort in Croatia. The story was first broken by People magazine last year that noted in a piece that Pitt wants to set up a “modern ecologically-responsible planned community” that could cost more than USD$1.5 billion.
According to another story, Pitt was seen in Croatia just last week to visit the proposed site and reportedly told a local paper that Croatia, according to him is “the most beautiful country” the actor has visited.
As for Ad Astra, its been described by some as a Heart of Darkness tale told in space.
