But it’s confirmed. Affleck has officially received the title and we aren’t surprised because the ‘sad Affleck’ meme was extremely viral last year when the Batman star sadly responded to the backlash against his film during a promotional tour.
It all began when Stephen Follows, a U.K.-based film producer and leading film data researcher, evaluated high-profile actors’ emotions by collecting their movie posters for films released between 2000 and 2016 and running them through Microsoft’s Azure Emotion engine.
The producer selected 64 Hollywood stars based on their fame and had them analyzed by Azure, tracking several emotions, such as anger and sadness, and then calculated the median value for each star.
According to this analysis, Affleck had the highest score, followed by Ryan Gosling and Bruce Willis. Angelina Jolie was the saddest-looking female star, coming in sixth.
