The most recent addition to this list of collaborative projects is an upcoming television production called Romeo Weds Heer.
Starring Javed and Khan in lead roles, the TV serial is part-romantic and part-comedy and is being helmed by Anjum Shahzad. The serial recently went on floors and the cast is currently shooting for it in Karachi.
In an interview with Instep, Javed shared that her character in her next play after Khaani is a fun character and we feel she was hinting at her role in Romeo Weds Heer. “I’m playing the role of girl who is strong in a funny way. It’s a very interesting role,” she told Instep.
Speaking about the play, she stated, “It is a fun, filmy script and is going to be an entertainer. I can’t reveal anything else at the moment.”
While Romeo Weds Heer is under productions, fans can look out for Khaani that will see Javed and Khan sharing screen space for the first time. The play highlights an important social issue, according to Javed and is relevant to society. The promos will come out later this month while it will go on air early next month.
