We’ve been harping on about this and we’re glad that finally somebody heard us. Lately, it seems as though mainstream music outfits are stuck in the past with the music they produce. Very few local artists are venturing into the world of electronic dance music, a genre that is now becoming the ‘it’ sound all over the world but is taking its sweet time to develop in Pakistan.

You have the likes of Talal Qureshi and SomeWhatSuper who can be considered mainstream, but other bigger names seem to give the upcoming genre a wide berth.

Farhad Humayun has just released his first solo single, called ‘Mur Ke Dekho’ and we’re glad to see that Humayun has really changed his entire look and sound. The song is an upbeat, electronic beat, which sounds very Zayn Malik-esque. The video isn’t groundbreaking but is sufficiently pleasant to watch. It features Humayun himself alongside model Ramina Maripova.

The lyrics and composition have been written by Humayun himself while the music has been mixed and produced by Sarmad Ghafoor. The video has also been directed by the singer song-writer. We’re glad to see Humayun keeping up with the times and also glad to say that song is actually quite catchy.
