Riding high on the success of Udaari for which the actor bagged multiple awards, Ahsan Khan will soon be making his big screen debut in the post-cinema revival era that is upon us. He is all set to appear in two films this year; one is a romantic comedy with Neelam Muneer called Chupan Chupai and the other is titled Rehbra and also stars actors Ayesha Omar and Sarish Khan in pivotal roles.
However, that’s not all the actor has up his sleeves. Presently, Khan is gearing up for a Pakistani musical called Ishq, which will take place in London.
“For the first time a Pakistani musical is happening in mainstream theatre in London,” Ahsan Khan told Instep. “It will take place at the Sadler’s Wells Theatre which is a very popular 16th century theatre with a capacity of over 1500 people.”
Ishq is said to be a Sufi musical adapted from the folk tale of Heer Ranjha which will be primarily in English language but will also include some Punjabi tunes. More surprisingly, Khan will be seen singing and dancing in the play aside from acting in it.
To prepare for the role, Khan is learning the art of dance and is also working on his vocals. Speaking about what he feels after associating with this theatre production, Khan noted, “It’s a huge thing as an actor. A passionate actor would always try to look for an experiment and do different things which pleases and excites them.”
Khan also shared that he has signed on for a third film in Pakistan as well as a TV play with director, storyteller Ehteshamuddin. The details will be released soon.
